Fabulous Grand Opening of Aristide

Last night my wife, Lora Lea and I, along with about 1000+ others attended the gala grand opening of Aristide in Mansfield.  It is a fabulous new event and reception facility serving the Dallas and Fort Worth area and they know how to make a great début.

I can hardly wait to do a wedding there.  We met the first couple to be married there and it will be this Saturday.   It has been fun to watch the progress as they built this extraordinary facility and anticipate its completion.

In the grooms room they were offering massages and make up for those who were interested in being pampered.  Throughout the facility there were vendors showcasing their products and talents.  You could visit with florists, caterers, bakeries, singers, string quartets, bridal consultants, rentals, invitations and many others.

Tom Mahler with Ducky Bob’s was there showing his excellent selection of ‘top of the line’ linens, china, glassware – etc.  Twigs provided spectacular floral arrangements with a European design style.  Yeila owner of Yelibelly Chocolates presented some wonderful chocolate with new flavor combinations – such as chocolate and jalapeno – just delicious.   I had to try one of each of her creations.  She is also an accomplished Belly Dancer.   Bluedoor Studios was there with their Photo Lounge and that was a great hit.   Julie West (Paper Planet) was showing the latest ideas in invitations, place cards and save the date cards.  We ended the night sampling wedding cake from Sweet Memories in Keller and talking with Susan and her husband Bruce.

If you get a chance to visit Aristide you won’t be disappointed and I would love to be the minister for your wedding.

New Beginnings

Today is the day for new beginnings.  The old year is over and a new one begins.

New Years Day has always been a special day for me.  Especially the New Years Day 42 years ago.  That was the day I married my wife, Lora Lea and today we are celebrating our 42 anniversary.   It was a magical day and one I will remember always as one of the best things I have ever done.

Not only did I get a great lady, a wonderful mother to our 3 children, but I also got the best wedding coordinator to assist in our business together.

Hope your day was wonderful and relaxing and this will be the start of a great year.

Nine Weddings on New Years Eve

When I think of the most memorable New Years Eve I immediately think of 1999.  That was the year I performed nine weddings on New Years Eve.  I do think that was a record – at least it was a record for me for the most weddings performed in one day.  I started the day with a dawn wedding and the ended with the last wedding being a double wedding – at midnight.

I can’t think of anything I would rather do on New Years Eve than to help couples begin their life together.

Fortunately in 1999 there wasn’t any ice or snow that day so getting to each wedding wasn’t a problem.

There was one New Years Eve I remember where there was so much ice and snow that I barely made it to my wedding in Grapevine.  It took about 2 hours to get there instead of 20 minutes.   However the joy on the faces of the bride and groom and the compliments from the guests made it all worthwhile.

I wish you all a very PROSPEROUS and HAPPY NEW YEAR and if I can assist you with your wedding plans for 2010 please call me. . . 817-247-1706
