Saturday, January 16th Wedding

It’s back to the Stockyards of Fort Worth again this weekend for a Saturday evening wedding.   This time it is at the Hotel and I am really looking forward to it.  Last night I was in Grapevine at a beautiful home by the lake.  Sometime I believe I have the best job in the world.

Wedding Today

Today I have a wedding at a new facility in Burleson.  It is Rustic Creek Ranch.  This will be the first time I have officiated a wedding there.

Looking at the pictures on line gave me a good idea of the location and after the wedding I will be able to tell you whether I would recommend you doing a wedding there.

I’m really happy to have a wedding today because my wife is taking down Christmas decorations and I have a GREAT EXCUSE not to help.  Before you get the wrong idea about me – we did spend all day yesterday taking down the outside decorations and a few inside.  I really do – do my part.

Have a great day.

New Beginnings

Today is the day for new beginnings.  The old year is over and a new one begins.

New Years Day has always been a special day for me.  Especially the New Years Day 42 years ago.  That was the day I married my wife, Lora Lea and today we are celebrating our 42 anniversary.   It was a magical day and one I will remember always as one of the best things I have ever done.

Not only did I get a great lady, a wonderful mother to our 3 children, but I also got the best wedding coordinator to assist in our business together.

Hope your day was wonderful and relaxing and this will be the start of a great year.

Nine Weddings on New Years Eve

When I think of the most memorable New Years Eve I immediately think of 1999.  That was the year I performed nine weddings on New Years Eve.  I do think that was a record – at least it was a record for me for the most weddings performed in one day.  I started the day with a dawn wedding and the ended with the last wedding being a double wedding – at midnight.

I can’t think of anything I would rather do on New Years Eve than to help couples begin their life together.

Fortunately in 1999 there wasn’t any ice or snow that day so getting to each wedding wasn’t a problem.

There was one New Years Eve I remember where there was so much ice and snow that I barely made it to my wedding in Grapevine.  It took about 2 hours to get there instead of 20 minutes.   However the joy on the faces of the bride and groom and the compliments from the guests made it all worthwhile.

I wish you all a very PROSPEROUS and HAPPY NEW YEAR and if I can assist you with your wedding plans for 2010 please call me. . . 817-247-1706
